After landing on the idea of the magnetic joint, The purpose of this design is for users to meet their needs in the process from buying the furniture to delivery, packaging, assembling, usage, storing and moving while considering the long-term good for users. In this type of experience which takes part in many aspects for customers, attract them who may appreciate the design with consideration. Sometimes, customers concern for convenience and function, seemingly over aesthete. The concept is positioned not only to create a new kind of joint, but also to improve the process and to create a system.
The joint contains steel pins, connected magnets and a key. It is a totally invisible connector that can be taken apart and reconnected to give a very strong locking joint. Working like a dowel in two parts and not requiring any clamping, it is suitable for many joints and will overcome design problems where components need to be joined then disassembled and reassembled or where it is just almost impossible to clamp. All that is required is the magnetic key; this would also be ideal for joining worktops. The pin is through the holes of two parts — tabletop and leg with magnetic force in the end inside the tabletop. Bring the two components together by horizontal magnetic force and vertical gravity of the table top resulting in a solid joint. To disassemble, attach the key to the edge of the pin and pull out– simple, quick and easy. Both the pin and the side stay flush with the joinery, so no trouble can occur in usage. Of course, the dimension of the joint can be customized depends on the type of the furniture.
The key is stored and attached by magnet underneath the tabletop. Never worried about getting lost with the tools.
In case for the delivery and moving house, the grooves provide places to store the legs in order to minimize the volume of the furniture andthe strap protect the legs without scratching and moving around.
